Welcome
Youth With a Mission
“Youth with a Mission (YWAM) hopes to inspire people, young people and adults, with a passion for God. Since 1960, this Christian movement has prepared hundreds of thousands of believers in the ways of God and sent them to the mission field full of faith, eager to win the world for Jesus Christ.
It was founded by Loren Cunningham. The dream began in 1960 with many young people traveling to different continents and announcing the “good news” of Jesus Christ. Loren’s vision has now become an international and interdenominational movement of Christians from around the world, dedicated to presenting the gospel to this generation.
We practice holiness, depending on God to guide us and provide for us financially. We work to maintain a lifestyle of worship, prayer, & hospitality. Overall goals of YWAM are the development of Christian character, leadership, and service, focusing on good relationships with each other and our families. Through these principles, we try to build bridges among Christian leaders, working together with local churches and other ministries to carry out the Great Commission.
Youth With A Mission – ARGENTINA
The year was 1978 and Argentina was chosen as host for the World Cup. An invitation was sent to the world to come and enjoy the skills on the soccer fields. Sports fans arrived in the country for this occasion, but also people from different nationalities, different cultures, and languages; even young fans of Jesus…and they decided to proclaim the message of the cross in the streets of Argentina.
This caused a great impact in the churches throughout Argentina, who had become accustomed to the oppressive system of government at the time. The impact on the church produced a new courage and boldness, bringing a new brilliance to the previous dim light. Many believers wanted to capture this excitement and that’s how discipleship seminars were started. The focus of these seminars were: “how to recognize the voice of God”, “intercession for the lost”, “evangelism as a lifestyle”, etc.
In the decade of the ’80s, in the province of Mendoza, in Palmyra, the Lord provided the finances to purchase a farm, “the first base in Argentina.” He then opened the first boarding school with Youth With a Mission in Argentina, at the time called, “basic school of evangelism.” A program was incorporated with evangelistic crusades in different parts of the country and neighboring countries.
In 1989 the base moved to Buenos Aires (a better vantage point) with a new vision: “to train Latin Americans for the mission field in order to reach the non-evangelized peoples with the gospel.”
***All bases are autonomous, maintaining their links with other national and international bases through a voluntary, submissive relationship based on love, giving identity to the mission.
